Personal Caregivers help a client with personal care which may include bathing, dressing, ambulating and feeding. Additionally, this position may directly assist clients who have a chronic and/or stable medical condition. Most frequently the individuals who fill these positions hold a Certified Nurse Aide (CNAs) certificate, or have a similar certification. A valid drivers license and reliable transportation are required for this position.

Live-In Caregivers

The difference is that these caregivers are responsible for providing care 24 hours a day, and live in their clients home. Caregivers are paid on a daily basis, and meals are provided by the client. Typically, these caregivers take every other weekend off and are relieved by an alternate weekend caregiver. A valid drivers license is not required for this position, however it is strongly preferred.
